Aigul Akhmetshina is a Russian mezzo-soprano born in 1996 in Kirgiz-Miyaki, Bashkortostan. She studied at the Ufa State Institute of Arts and later joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the Royal Opera House in London. In 2017, she debuted as Carmen at the Royal Opera House, becoming the youngest singer in that role. In 2024, she released her debut album 'Aigul' under the Decca Classics label, featuring arias from operas such as 'Carmen', 'Werther', and 'La Cenerentola'.
