Airelle Besson is a French jazz trumpeter, composer, and arranger known for her clear and powerful playing. She studied classical music and jazz, earning a first prize in jazz from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. In 2014, she formed her own quartet with Isabel Sörling, Benjamin Moussay, and Fabrice Moreau, releasing the albums "Radio One" (2016) and "Try!" (2021). She has collaborated with artists such as Charlie Haden, Carla Bley, and Metronomy. In 2024, she released the album "Surprise!" with the Besson/Sternal/Burgwinkel trio, featuring ten original compositions.
