Airto Moreira and Flora Purim are Brazilian musicians renowned for their contributions to jazz and fusion music. In the 1960s, they were members of Quartetto Novo alongside Hermeto Pascoal. In 1967, they moved to New York, where Moreira collaborated with Miles Davis on the album "Bitches Brew" and was a member of Weather Report and Return to Forever. Purim worked with Stan Getz and Gil Evans and released successful solo albums. In 1988, they performed at the Jazzfest in Bremen with bassist Bob Harrison, saxophonist Gary Meek, and keyboardist Marcos Silva.
