Akercocke is an English extreme metal band from London, formed in 1997 by Jason Mendonça and David Gray. Their debut album, "Rape of the Bastard Nazarene," was released in 1999. Subsequent albums include "The Goat of Mendes" (2001), "Choronzon" (2003), "Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone" (2005), and "Antichrist" (2007). After a hiatus, they reunited in 2016 and released "Renaissance in Extremis" in 2017. Their music blends elements of black metal, death metal, and progressive metal.
