Akira Ishikawa was a Japanese drummer known for his contributions to jazz-funk and fusion music. In 1975, he released the album "Back To Rhythm" with his band Count Buffalos, featuring percussion-heavy versions of tracks like "Let's Start" and "Bongo Rock". This album marked the final recording in his African-influenced period and includes cover versions of songs by The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, and Stevie Wonder. Originally released in Japan by Columbia, the album was later reissued by Mr Bongo. Ishikawa collaborated with musicians such as Kiyoshi Sugimoto and Hiromasa Suzuki.
