Alex Maksymiw is a Canadian guitarist and composer, born in Toronto to Ukrainian immigrant parents. He studied in Amsterdam and has been active on the international jazz scene for over 15 years. He has collaborated with artists such as Dick Oatts, Don Thompson, and Michael Vatcher, and has been a member of the Amsterdam Jazz Orchestra and the Village Vanguard Orchestra. In 2011, he released his debut album "The Dreamer," followed by "Without a Word" in 2015. His music blends modern jazz with traditional elements, collaborating with musicians like Marcus Strickland and Frank Parker.
