Ali Farka Touré and Toumani Diabaté were two prominent Malian musicians who collaborated on the 2005 album "In the Heart of the Moon." Touré, a renowned guitarist and singer, was a pioneer of African blues, while Diabaté is a master of the kora, a traditional West African string instrument. The album was recorded at the Hotel Mandé in Bamako without prior rehearsals, highlighting their musical chemistry. It features 12 tracks based on traditional melodies from the Songhai and Bambara regions. In 2006, the album won a Grammy Award for Best Traditional World Music Album.
