Alvin Cash was an American soul singer and dancer known for his dance craze hits in the 1960s. Born on February 15, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri, his biggest hit, "Twine Time," reached No. 14 on the U.S. pop chart and No. 4 on the R&B chart in 1965. Other notable tracks include "The Barracuda" and "The Philly Freeze." Cash was recognized for his energetic performances and contributed to the popularization of dance crazes during that era. He continued recording and performing into the 1990s.
