The Amatis Trio is a chamber music ensemble founded in 2014 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It comprises German violinist Lea Hausmann, British cellist Samuel Shepherd, and Dutch-Chinese pianist Mengjie Han. The trio gained recognition as BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists from 2016 to 2018 and as ECHO Rising Stars in 2018. Their 2018 debut album features works by Enescu, Ravel, and Britten. In 2019, they debuted at the BBC Proms and performed at the Edinburgh International Festival. The Amatis Trio is known for its commitment to contemporary music and educational projects, having premiered 15 new works and taught masterclasses in various countries.
