Amebix was a British punk band from Tavistock, Devon, formed in 1978. Considered pioneers of crust punk, their music blended anarcho-punk and post-punk with elements of heavy metal. Notable albums include "Arise!" (1985) and "Monolith" (1987). The band disbanded in 1987, reunited in 2008, and released "Sonic Mass" in 2011. Throughout their career, they influenced genres such as grindcore, black metal, and metalcore.
