Andreas Kurz is a German jazz double bassist and composer. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and the Richard-Strauss-Konservatorium. He was a member of the Bavarian Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Bundesjazzorchester. Kurz has collaborated with artists such as Benny Golson, Joe Locke, and Vincent Herring. In 2014, he released his debut album "Caught Into Something Turning." His discography includes collaborations with Tim Allhoff, Max Mutzke, and Torsten Goods. In 2009, he received the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize, and in 2010, the New German Jazz Prize with the Tim Allhoff Trio.
