Anne Shelton was an English singer who gained fame during World War II for her performances for soldiers and radio broadcasts. Born Patricia Jacqueline Sibley in 1923 in London, she began her career in 1940 with Bert Ambrose's orchestra. Her notable songs include "Lay Down Your Arms," which topped the UK charts in 1956, and "Sailor" from 1961. Throughout her career, she collaborated with artists like Bing Crosby and Glenn Miller.
