Anshel Brusilow was an American violinist, conductor, and music educator. Born in 1928 in Philadelphia, he studied at the Curtis Institute of Music. He served as concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra under George Szell and later the Philadelphia Orchestra under Eugene Ormandy. In 1965, he founded and conducted the Chamber Symphony of Philadelphia, recording several albums for RCA Victor. In the 1970s, he was the music director of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He also taught at the University of North Texas and Southern Methodist University. His recordings include works such as Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" and Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade".
