Anton Arensky was a Russian composer and pianist known for his chamber works and orchestral compositions. He studied at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory under Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and later taught at the Moscow Conservatory, where his students included Sergei Rachmaninoff and Alexander Scriabin. Notable works include Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 32, and Variations on a Theme by Tchaikovsky, Op. 35a. Arensky's music is characterized by melodic richness and harmonic innovation, contributing to the development of Russian classical music at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
