Argent was an English rock band formed in 1969 by former The Zombies keyboardist Rod Argent. Their biggest hit, "Hold Your Head Up," reached No. 5 on both UK and US charts in 1972. Other notable songs include "God Gave Rock and Roll to You" and "Tragedy." The band released several albums, including "All Together Now" and "In Deep." After guitarist Russ Ballard's departure in 1974, the band shifted towards progressive rock. Argent disbanded in 1976, but their music continues to influence many artists.
