CD SONG OF THE BIRDS

In "Song of the Birds," mandolin virtuoso Avi Avital explores the musical traditions of southern Italy, the Iberian Peninsula, and the Black Sea region. With his ensemble "Between Worlds," he intertwines folk music, traditional rhythms, and classical compositions to create a rich musical tapestry. The album features works by composers such as Béla Bartók, Manuel de Falla, and Fazil Say, interwoven with traditional melodies ranging from Italian tarantella to Andalusian folk songs and Georgian male choirs. The concluding track, the Catalan folk song "El cant dels ocells," symbolizes a universal longing for peace and hope. This album was released on September 5, 2025, in CD format.
