Ayreon is a musical project by Dutch composer and multi-instrumentalist Arjen Anthony Lucassen, established in 1995. Ayreon's music blends progressive rock and metal with elements of folk, electronica, and classical music. Most albums are conceived as rock operas featuring complex narratives and diverse characters, each portrayed by different vocalists. Notable albums include "The Final Experiment" (1995), "Into the Electric Castle" (1998), and "The Human Equation" (2004). Lucassen frequently collaborates with various guest musicians and vocalists, with drummer Ed Warby being a regular contributor. Live performances of the project are rare.
