Back Door was a British jazz-rock trio formed in 1971 in Blakey, Yorkshire. The original lineup consisted of Colin Hodgkinson (bass guitar, vocals), Ron Aspery (saxophone, flute, electric piano), and Tony Hicks (drums). Their 1972 debut album, "Back Door," received acclaim for its innovative fusion of jazz, blues, and rock. This was followed by "8th Street Nites" (1973), "Another Fine Mess" (1975), and "Activate" (1976). The band disbanded in 1977 but reunited in 2003 to record "Askin' the Way." Their music influenced many artists and remains a significant part of the British jazz-rock scene.
