Bad Astronaut is an American indie/alternative rock band formed in 2000 by Joey Cape, the singer from Lagwagon. The band released their debut album "Acrophobe" in 2001, followed by "Houston: We Have a Drinking Problem" in 2002 and "Twelve Small Steps, One Giant Disappointment" in 2006. After the death of drummer Derrick Plourde in 2005, the band disbanded but reunited in 2010 for a series of concerts. In 2024, they released "Untethered," featuring acoustic versions of their previous songs. Their music blends elements of indie rock, punk rock, and alternative rock.
