Bananarama is an English pop group formed in London in 1980. Originally a trio consisting of Sara Dallin, Siobhan Fahey, and Keren Woodward, the group achieved 32 singles in the Top 50 of the UK Singles Chart between 1982 and 2009. Their most notable hits include "Venus," "Cruel Summer," and "Love in the First Degree." In 1986, they reached number one in the US with "Venus." Siobhan Fahey left the group in 1988 to form Shakespears Sister. Bananarama is recognized for their contribution to the second British invasion of the US and holds a Guinness World Record for the most chart entries by an all-female group.
