Batacumbele is a Puerto Rican music group founded in the 1980s by percussionist Angel "Cachete" Maldonado. The band is known for blending jazz with Afro-Cuban rhythms and traditional Puerto Rican styles such as bomba and plena. Notable albums include "Con un Poco de Songo" (1981), "En Aquellos Tiempos" (1983), and "Afro Caribbean Jazz" (1987). In 1988, they released the live album "In Concert: Live at the University of Puerto Rico."
