Belle Epoque was a French female vocal trio formed in Paris in 1977. The group consisted of lead singer Evelyne Lenton and two backup singers, whose lineup changed over time. Their biggest hit was a disco version of "Black Is Black," which reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart in 1977 and number 1 in Australia in 1978. In the United States, they were better known for "Miss Broadway," which reached number 26 on the R&B chart in 1978.
