Ben Markley is an American jazz pianist and composer. Following his successful big band album "Clockwise: The Music of Cedar Walton," he released "Basic Economy" in 2018 with his quartet, featuring alto saxophonist Greg Osby. The album comprises original compositions inspired by their four-year musical collaboration. Markley's discography also includes the 2025 album "Tell the Truth," which pays homage to the 1960s Blue Note quintet recordings. On this album, he collaborated with bassist Rodney Whitaker, drummer Kyle Swan, guitarist Steve Kovalcheck, and alto saxophonist Wil Swindler.
