Benjamin Alard is a French classical organist, harpsichordist, and clavichordist born in Rouen. He studied with Louis Thiry and François Ménissier at the Conservatory of Rouen, and later with Jörg-Andreas Bötticher at the Schola Cantorum in Basel. In 2004, he won first prize at the International Harpsichord Competition in Bruges. Since 2005, he has been the organist at the Church of Saint-Louis-en-l'Île in Paris. Alard is known for his project of recording the complete works for keyboard by Johann Sebastian Bach for the label harmonia mundi, with several volumes already released.
