Bettye Swann is an American soul singer best known for her 1967 hit "Make Me Yours," which reached number one on the Billboard R&B chart. Born Betty Jean Champion on October 24, 1944, in Shreveport, Louisiana, she began her music career in 1964. Throughout her career, she released several albums, including "Make Me Yours" (1967), "The Soul View Now" (1969), and "Don't You Ever Get Tired of Hurting Me?" (1969).
