Big Black was an American punk rock band from Evanston, Illinois, active from 1981 to 1987. Founded by singer and guitarist Steve Albini, the band later included guitarist Santiago Durango and bassist Jeff Pezzati. Their music was known for its aggressive sound, distinctive metallic guitars, and the use of a drum machine instead of a traditional drum kit. Notable albums include "Atomizer" (1986) and "Songs About Fucking" (1987). Their lyrics often addressed controversial topics such as murder, rape, and racism. After the band's dissolution, Albini pursued a career in production and formed the bands Rapeman and Shellac. The products available from the artist Big Black include vinyls.
