Bikini Kill is an American punk rock band formed in Olympia, Washington, in 1990. The original lineup consisted of vocalist and songwriter Kathleen Hanna, guitarist Billy Karren, bassist Kathi Wilcox, and drummer Tobi Vail. The band is credited with pioneering the riot grrrl movement, known for their feminist lyrics and energetic performances. Their music is characterized by a raw punk sound influenced by hardcore. Throughout their career, they released two studio albums, several EPs, and two compilations.
