Bill Charlap is an American jazz pianist known for his work with the Bill Charlap Trio, featuring bassist Peter Washington and drummer Kenny Washington. Formed in 1997, the trio is regarded as one of the leading jazz groups. Charlap has collaborated with artists such as Tony Bennett, with whom he won a Grammy Award for the album "The Silver Lining: The Songs of Jerome Kern". His notable albums include "And Then Again" and "Street of Dreams". Charlap also serves as the artistic director of New York City's Jazz in July festival and leads jazz studies at William Paterson University.
