Bill Whelan is an Irish composer and musician, best known for composing "Riverdance". This piece was originally presented as a seven-minute performance during the interval of the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest and later developed into a full-length show that gained worldwide popularity. Whelan won a Grammy Award for the "Riverdance" soundtrack. Additionally, he has collaborated with artists such as U2, Van Morrison, and Kate Bush, and produced songs for Johnny Logan that won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1980 and 1987.
