Billy Bragg and Joe Henry are two acclaimed musicians who, in March 2016, embarked on a 2,728-mile train journey from Chicago to Los Angeles. During this trip, they recorded traditional railroad songs at various stations and waiting rooms. The result is the album "Shine a Light: Field Recordings from the Great American Railroad," featuring 13 tracks, including "Rock Island Line" and "The Midnight Special." This project pays homage to American railroad culture and its influence on music.
