Billy Childish is an English artist born on December 1, 1959, in Chatham, Kent. He is known as a singer, guitarist, painter, author, poet, photographer, and filmmaker. Since the late 1970s, he has been active in music, literature, and visual arts. He has led and played in bands such as Thee Milkshakes, Thee Mighty Caesars, and Thee Headcoats, releasing over 100 albums in genres like garage rock, punk, and surf. In 1999, he co-founded the Stuckism art movement. In 2014, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Arts degree from the University of Kent.
