Birds of Passage is the solo project of New Zealand poet and singer-songwriter Alicia Merz, established in 2010. She is known for her ambient and minimalist experimental music, combining intimate, whispered vocals with expansive, wintry drones. Notable albums include "Without the World" (2011), "Winter Lady" (2012), and "This Kindly Slumber" (2014). Her music is often compared to artists like Cocteau Twins, Sigur Rós, and Slowdive.
