Blind Lemon Jefferson was an American blues singer and guitarist, known as the "Father of Texas Blues". Born in 1893 in Texas, he was blind from birth. In the 1920s, he became one of the most popular blues artists, with his high-pitched voice and unique guitar style influencing many later musicians. His most notable songs include "Black Snake Moan", "Matchbox Blues", and "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean". Jefferson recorded for Paramount Records, with his recordings selling in the hundreds of thousands. He died in 1929 in Chicago.
