Blo was a Nigerian psychedelic funk band active from 1972 to 1982. The trio consisted of Laolu "Akins" Akintobi (drums), Berkely "Ike" Jones (guitar), and Mike "Gbenga" Odumosu (bass). The group fused Afrobeat rhythms with funk and psychedelic elements of 1960s Western rock music. Their 1973 debut album, "Chapter One," is considered Africa's first psychedelic rock record. Despite initial commercial failure, the album became a sought-after collector's item. In 2009, their recordings from 1972 to 1982 were reissued on the retrospective album "Phases 1972–1982."
