Blue Cheer was an American rock band formed in 1966 in San Francisco. Their 1968 debut album, "Vincebus Eruptum," featuring the hit "Summertime Blues," is considered one of the first heavy metal albums. The band was known for their loud and raw sound, which influenced the development of hard rock and heavy metal. Other notable albums include "Outsideinside" (1968) and "New! Improved!" (1969). Throughout their career, they underwent several personnel changes and were active intermittently until 2009. Their music influenced many later rock and metal bands.
