Brian Blade & The Fellowship Band is a jazz ensemble formed in 1997 by drummer and composer Brian Blade and pianist and composer Jon Cowherd. The band has released seven albums, including "Brian Blade Fellowship" (1998), "Perceptual" (2000), "Season of Changes" (2008), and "Kings Highway" (2023). Their music blends elements of jazz, gospel, and folk. Members include saxophonists Myron Walden and Melvin Butler, bassist Christopher Thomas, and guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel. "Kings Highway" was recorded in June 2018 at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, California, and released in July 2023 under the Stoner Hill Records label.
