Burning Spear, born Winston Rodney, is a Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter renowned for his contributions to roots reggae. In 1976, he released the album "Man in the Hills," following the success of "Marcus Garvey." This album was recorded at Randy's and Harry J's studios in Kingston and produced by Jack Ruby. It features tracks like "Man in the Hills" and "No More War." Influenced by Marcus Garvey's ideas, Burning Spear's music often reflects themes of Pan-Africanism and self-determination. Throughout his career, he has won two Grammy Awards for Best Reggae Album.
