Butcher Brown is a quintet from Richmond, Virginia, formed in 2009. The members are DJ Harrison (keyboards), Corey Fonville (drums), Andrew Randazzo (bass guitar), Marcus "Tennishu" Tenney (trumpet, saxophone, rap), and Morgan Burrs (guitar). Their music blends jazz, hip-hop, soul, funk, and R&B. Notable albums include "All Purpose Music" (2014), "#KingButch" (2020), and "Solar Music" (2023). They have collaborated with artists such as Pink Siifu, Charlie Hunter, and Keyon Harrold. In 2024, they won the Newlin Music Prize for the album "Solar Music".
