Cachao Sounds is a musical project led by Venezuelan percussionist Gerardo Rosales and Cuban pianist Lázara Cachao López, daughter of renowned bassist Orlando "Cachaíto" López. The album "La Descarga Continua," released in 2010, pays tribute to the López family, who significantly contributed to the development of mambo and descargas in Cuban music. The recording features tracks like "Redención," "Mambo," and "Descarga Cubana," blending traditional Cuban rhythms with jazz improvisations. Dutch jazz musicians also participated in the album, creating a fusion of Latin American and European musical influences.
