Carolyn Crawford is an American singer born in Detroit in 1949. In 1963, she won a talent contest, leading to a contract with Motown Records. Her single "My Smile Is Just a Frown (Turned Upside Down)" reached number 39 on the R&B chart. After leaving Motown in 1964, she joined the group Hodges, James & Smith in 1971 but departed a year later. In the 1970s, she collaborated with producer Hamilton Bohannon and released albums "My Name Is Caroline" and "Nice and Soulful." Her music encompasses R&B, soul, and disco genres.
