Cass Elliot, born Ellen Naomi Cohen, was an American singer best known as a member of The Mamas & the Papas. After the group's breakup in 1968, she embarked on a solo career, releasing five albums, including "Dream a Little Dream" and "Bubblegum, Lemonade, and... Something for Mama". Her music spanned the folk rock and sunshine pop genres. Elliot won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary (R&R) Performance for "Monday, Monday" in 1967.
