Description

'Mid Spiral' is the latest album by Canadian instrumental group BADBADNOTGOOD, released on October 25, 2024. This album marks a return to their roots in instrumental jazz while pushing genre boundaries by blending elements of hip-hop, neo-soul, psychedelia, and funk. Recorded at Valentine Studios in Los Angeles in February 2024, the trio collaborated with additional musicians, including Felix Fox-Pappas (keys), Kaelin Murphy (trumpet), Juan Carlos Medrano (percussion), and Tyler Lott (guitar), resulting in a deeply collaborative and expansive new sound. The album is divided into three parts – Chaos, Order, and Growth – reflecting the musicians' personal lives and the state of the wider world.
