Jean Langlais (1907–1991) was a French composer and organist renowned for his sacred music and tenure at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Paris. This recording presents his complete works for trumpet and organ, performed by Nicolas Bernard (trumpet) and Tommaso Mazzoletti (organ). The album features Chorales, a Sonatina, and a series of short character pieces, showcasing Langlais's ability to blend Gregorian, Baroque, and modernist elements into expressive and harmonically rich compositions. Recorded on the Brondino Vegezzi-Bossi organ at the Protestant Temple in Gland, Switzerland, the performance delivers an authentic French symphonic sound. The release is scheduled for April 4, 2025.
