'Exils' is an album by Kurdish artist Ruşan Filiztek, set for release on September 27, 2024. This virtuoso saz player and vocalist blends hypnotic melodies with diverse Mediterranean sounds, from Andalusian flamenco to Mesopotamian maqâm. The album is the result of collaboration with international musicians, including flamenco guitarist François Aria, percussionist Juan Manuel Cortes, Celtic flautist Sylvain Barou, Armenian duduk player Artyom Minasyan, viola da gamba player Marie-Suzanne de Loye, Greek singer Dafné Kritharas, flamenco singer Cécile Evrot, and jazz bassists Leila Soldevila and Emrah Kaptan. 'Exils' is a musical journey celebrating the richness of cultural exchange and traditions.
