THE FILM is a collaborative album by the band SUMAC and artist Moor Mother, released on April 25, 2025. This CD offers a unique fusion of post-metal and avant-garde hip-hop, where heavy guitar riffs intertwine with poetic lyrics, creating an intense and captivating listening experience. The album was recorded at Studio Litho in Seattle under the direction of engineer Scott Evans and features guest vocals from artists such as Kyle Kidd, Sovie, and Candice Hoyes. THE FILM is conceived as a cohesive narrative, exploring themes like land, displacement, climate, human rights and freedom, war, and peace, providing a profound and contemplative perspective on contemporary social issues.
