'Nuts of Ay' is the thirteenth album by Berlin-based electronic pop duo Tarwater (Ronald Lippok and Bernd Jestram), released on November 22, 2024. After a decade-long hiatus since 2014's 'Adrift', the duo returns with a work that blends their previous musical phases into the present. The album features hypnotic pop tracks like 'Hideous Kiss', where jangling guitar, pastoral flute, and shimmering electronics intertwine. Tarwater continues their tradition of adapting texts from other authors, drawing on works by Derek Jarman ('All Nuns'), Milner Place ('Trapdoor Spider'), Shane MacGowan ('USA'), and John Lennon ('Everybody Had a Hard Year') on this album. Guest artists include Schneider TM, Alva Noto, Masha Qrella, and actor Lars Rudolph. 'Nuts of Ay' is available in a limited edition of 500 copies on CD, featuring a double Pantone printed digisleeve with hot-foil stamping.
