Yasmin Williams, acclaimed composer and guitarist, presents her latest album 'Acadia', released on October 4, 2024, under Nonesuch Records. This album is her most expansive work to date, featuring nine original, predominantly instrumental tracks, all written and produced by Williams herself. She showcases her versatility by playing various guitars, banjo, calabash drum, tap shoes, and kora. Collaborating with a diverse array of artists—including Immanuel Wilkins on saxophone, Dom Flemons on rhythm bones, Aoife O'Donovan on vocals, and William Tyler on guitar—Williams crafts a folk music experience that reflects the wide range of musical influences that have inspired her throughout her life.
