Ben Williams, winner of the 2009 Thelonious Monk Institute International Jazz Bass Competition, presents his second album, 'Coming of Age'. Released on May 1, 2015, this album reflects his musical evolution, blending elements of jazz, hip-hop, rock, and soul. Williams showcases his prowess as a seasoned composer and leader, with nine of the eleven tracks being his original compositions. The album also features unique interpretations of Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and Lianne La Havas' 'Lost & Found'. Guest artists include vocalist Goapele, trumpeter Christian Scott, and vibraphonist Stefon Harris, contributing to the album's richness and diversity.
