Charles Bradley was an American soul and funk singer, known as the "Screaming Eagle of Soul". After years performing as a James Brown impersonator under the name "Black Velvet", he was discovered by Gabriel Roth of Daptone Records. He released four studio albums: "No Time for Dreaming" (2011), "Victim of Love" (2013), "Changes" (2016), and the posthumous "Black Velvet" (2018). His music is characterized by powerful vocals and an authentic soul sound. Bradley collaborated with the Menahan Street Band, and his career was documented in the film "Soul of America".
