Charles Lloyd is an American jazz saxophonist and flutist born on March 15, 1938, in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1966, he formed a quartet with Keith Jarrett, Cecil McBee, and Jack DeJohnette. Their album "Forest Flower: Live at Monterey" became one of the first jazz recordings to sell a million copies. Lloyd has collaborated with artists such as The Beach Boys and Maria Farantouri. In 2015, he was honored as an NEA Jazz Master. His latest album, "The Sky Will Still Be There Tomorrow," was released in March 2024.
